Basic Code Certification Class
OCEA offers a Basic Code Certification Class at the Moore-Norman Career and Technology Center located at the South Penn Campus in OKC at SW134th (same as 4th Street if coming from I-35 in Moore) & Penn, addressed as 13301 S. Pennsylvania, OKC, OK 73170. Topics include review and testing on State Statutes affecting Code Enforcement, as well as planning and zoning issues, constitutional awareness, courtroom preparedness, personal protection, and many more topics as well.
The curriculum was developed by the OCEA and the staff at the Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center. Curriculum updating was developed by the OCEA and approved by the Moore-Norman Technology Center. Classes will be listed on the OML Calendar. You may also register from there.
Basic Code classes are three full days and all classes start at 8:30 am. Testing now has a limit of 2 hours to complete. Re-tests are offered at the end of the next scheduled class. ICC Preferred Provider Class #21251.
Property Maintenance Class
OCEA offers a Property Maintenance Certification Class to be held at the Moore-Norman Career and Technology Center located at the South Penn Campus in OKC at SW134th (same as 4th Street if coming from I-35 in Moore) & Penn, which is addressed as 13301 S. Pennsylvania, OKC, OK 73170.
Attending the Basic Code Certification Class is a prerequisite for this class. This class will be taught from a current edition of the International Property Maintenance Code book, which will be provided at the class, with the price included in the tuition.
Instructors will be experienced code officers from various areas of the state. This class will help prepare you for the national ICC exam that is required by AACE in order to obtain their Property Maintenance Certification. Cost is evaluated annually and will be announced once the dates have been set and curriculum determined. The Property Maintenance Certification Class cost is $200.00 for active members in good standing and $250.00 for non-members, in effect, making them an OCEA member.
