Affiliate Membership
The League’s Affiliate membership was created for individuals or organizations wishing to avail themselves of League publications, meeting notices and opportunities to meet with municipal officials. The program was designed to encourage the exchange of ideas and information between officials from the League’s member municipalities, organizations and individuals that are interested in local government.
Affiliate members must agree to support the Oklahoma Municipal League’s mission to promote the general welfare of Oklahoma cities and towns and their citizens. They must also endorse and support state and national policies and programs which may be beneficial to cities and towns as well as oppose such as may be injurious to them. Affiliates do not, however, have a voice or role in determining OML business or policy matters.
Affiliate members must strive to secure harmonious actions among Oklahoma municipalities, other governments, and other groups in all matters which affect the rights and duties of Oklahoma municipalities. Affiliate members must promote constructive and cooperative intergovernmental relations by maintaining mutually supportive relationships with groups representing local, state and regional governments.
Affiliate organizations must be approved by the OML board and such Affiliate status will continue until terminated by the Affiliate or the OML board.
The cost of joining the Oklahoma Municipal League as an Affiliate member is $500 per year. An Affiliate member organization can place additional names on the mailing list for $100 per name. Once established as an Affiliate member, the organization is automatically billed for membership renewal annually.
