Moore City Manager Brooks Mitchell Joins OML Board of Directors

The Oklahoma Municipal League Board of Directors have recently selected Brooks Mitchell, City Manager of the City of Moore to join the Board of Directors.

Mitchell will represent District 8 after the retirement of Mayor Matt Dukes of Midwest City. Mitchell has served as City Manager for the City of Moore since December 2016, after previously serving as the City's Finance Director. Prior to joining the City of Moore, he was Finance Director for the City of Lawton. Before entering municipal government, Brooks served as Director of Administration for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, where he oversaw the agency's daily operations and the Public Utilities, Oil and Gas Conservation, Transportation, and Petroleum Storage Tank divisions.

"Brooks Mitchell is a respected leader in the State of Oklahoma and we are thrilled to add him to the OML Board of Directors," said Scotty White, Mayor of Poteau and President of the OML Board of Directors. "Mitchell brings a wealth of experience in municipal and state government, and his background will be invaluable to the OML Board."

Mitchell has long been active in municipal leadership across Oklahoma. A Certified Public Accountant for more than 30 years, he is a past president of the City Management Association of Oklahoma and currently serves as its Secretary-Treasurer. He has served on the Oklahoma Municipal League Legislative Committee for eight years, including as chairman in 2025 and 2026. In 2026, he was honored with the Gerald Wilkins City Manager of the Year Award.
