The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for Property Room Clerk in the Police Department. The incumbent is required to intake, preserve and release property and evidence, testify in court, and perform clerical duties including typing, data entry, filing, maintaining record manually or electronically for the Police Department. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines. Experience in typing and data processing preferred. The work requires the physical movement and/or supervision of the movement of property of all sizes, shapes, and weights to secure relocation sites, and will involve lifting and use of ladders. It will require accurate daily records entry into the computer, and a constant documentation of property location and status in order to maintain the chain of custody. The employee will exercise independent judgment using their understanding of law in decisions of property disposition. The use of scales, camera, calculator, automobile, small trucks, as well as office equipment, will be required. Technical skills can be acquired after assuming the position, while those possessed in the training stage is expected to progress with experience. Possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver license and be insurable. This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening. Starting Salary: $19.6527/hr. w/Benefits.
