The City of Midwest City is currently accepting applications for Lab Technician I or II in the Water department. The Lan Technician I incumbent performs chemical and bacteriological analyses in water treatment processes. The Lab Technician II incumbent performs maintenance and repairs equipment on the water treatment plant, overhead tower and well systems. To qualify as a Lab Technician I, knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. High school graduate or GED with a Class "C" laboratory certification in appropriate field from the Oklahoma State Department of Environmental Quality is required. Employee must possess a valid Oklahoma driver license and be insurable. To qualify as a Lab Technician II, high school graduate or GED required. Employee must possess a class "C" Water certification from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality. Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver license and be insurable. Some mechanical and electrical skills with previous experience preferred. This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening.
