Course Description - The NOI teaches statutorily required topics such as Municipal Budget Requirements, the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act, the Oklahoma Open Records Act, Ethics, Procedures for Conducting Meetings, Conflict of Interest, and Purchasing Procedures. This is the sole training requirement for newly elected or appointed officials and serves as their first introduction to municipal education. This class trains 400 - 600 municipal professionals each election cycle.
