At the local level, the Incident Commander (IC) plays a critical role in coordinating emergency response and ensuring effective communication during incidents. To support this effort, it is essential that the Oklahoma Municipal League (OML) and Oklahoma Emergency Management (OEM) maintain up-to-date contact information for each municipality. Each community should designate both a primary and an alternate 24/7 contact who can be reached at any time in the event of an emergency. Accurate and current phone numbers allow for timely coordination, resource support, and critical information sharing when it matters most. To ensure reliability, OML will request verification and updates of these contact numbers on an annual basis. These numbers will not be shared publicly, but will only be used in emergencies for official government purposes.
