Primary Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Flexible schedule with occasional evening or extended hours required during peak periods, month-end close, or critical deadlines. Remote work may be available after completion of a 6-month onboarding and training period.

The City of Tulsa Accounting division consists of 29 positions, including the Controller, three Assistant Controllers, four Accounting Managers, an Accounts Payable Manager, a Payroll Manager, six Senior Accountants, and a skilled team of clerical, fiscal, and financial operations support personnel.  Collectively, the division brings over 200 years of experience with the City of Tulsa, fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, and mutual support.

Responsibilities include (see full job description):

This full-time position works independently and with team members to produce financial statements and supporting schedules, perform reconciliations, adjust general ledger accounts as needed, research and analyze revenue and expense variances, assist with the annual audit process and present financial results to Boards.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related finance field

  • 2 years of progressively responsible accounting experience
