2-26 Detention Officer: We are looking for a team member to join our Detention Unit staff. This position is part of a progression plan with defined pay increases as you gain skills and knowledge through on-the-job training. Detention Officers are responsible for the operation of the city jail facilities and the welfare of the prisoners confined therein. Responsibilities include processing prisoners that are brought to jail facilities, entering pertinent information into the computer, searching all prisoners that are processed, receive, store and safeguard personal property of prisoners, and other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license. 

Starting rate: $16.95 per hour with an increase following a successful 6-month introductory period, plus a comprehensive benefits package is available including health, dental, vision, life, and retirement. 

A completed City of Stillwater application is required for consideration. Closing date: 1/29/26
