Listing Description
The City of Sayre is looking for a highly motivated City Manager that will provide direction and coordination consistent with the vision, goals and strategic objections of the City of Sayre. Essential tasks will include but not limited to:
•Knowledge of federal, state and local statutes, ordinances and regulations affecting municipalities
•Knowledge of operations of a variety of municipal service departments
•Knowledge of principles of management and supervision
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department heads, employees and elected officials
•Establish priorities regarding work responsibilities and adjust to new circumstances or ideas and change as needed
•Skilled in effective oral and written communications
•Skilled in gathering and organizing information and preparing reports
•Ability to make decisions using good judgment and assume responsibility for their impact
•Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver license and be insurable
•Knowledge of sewer, water and sanitation operations

Duties include but not limited to:
•Responsible for preparation of City Council agenda once a month, including drafting of items by other departments and review of council meeting minutes
•Attend City Council meetings once a month and other council meetings and work sessions as necessary to provide managerial staff support.
•Coordinate follow up actions from City Council meetings. Attend meetings of internal and external committees and organizations, including managers meetings, departmental and various project-oriented meetings.
•Performs other duties as required by City Council.

This position will remain open until a new City Manager has been hired.
