The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for a Community Engagement Manager in the Communications and Marketing department. The Community Engagement Manager oversees the business aspects of special event production, development, and sponsorship/fundraising efforts. Duties include producing major community special events, supervising the Events Coordinator who handles onsite event logistics, managing part-time/seasonal event employees, producing grand openings, managing special projects, serving as liaison to external applicants during the special event permitting process, serving as liaison in partnership projects with the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce, and managing Convention & Visitors Bureau outreach. High school graduate or equivalent with an Associate degree in related field required. Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver license and be insurable. Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, event management, business administration, hospitality administration, or related field is preferred. Five years of direct related and progressively responsible work experience in the event planning, park and recreation, convention, tourism, or hospitality industries may substitute for the degree preference. Festival Management certification preferred. Starting salary range: $60,088 -$63,623/YR. w/benefits.
