City of Bristow – Police Chief Position
The City of Bristow is accepting applications for the position of Police Chief. This is a full-time, exempt, at-will position responsible for providing professional leadership, strategic direction, and effective management of the Bristow Police Department.
The City of Bristow seeks an experienced law enforcement professional who demonstrates integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to community-oriented policing. The ideal candidate will have strong operational knowledge, proven supervisory experience, and the ability to build positive relationships with staff, partner agencies, and the public. This position reports to the Mayor on a day to day basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience, including supervisory duties.
•Associate’s Degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Police Science, or a closely related field; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
•Current CLEET certification or ability to obtain the same-Advanced CLEET certification preferred.
•Valid Oklahoma Class D driver’s license.
•Must be a U.S. citizen.
•Ability to pass background checks consistent with state and local law.
Essential Responsibilities:
•Direct and oversee all operations of the Police Department.
•Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training programs.
•Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
•Manage personnel, budgets, equipment, and departmental resources.
•Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and community engagement.
