This position is under administrative directions of the City Manager. This position is responsible for the direction, operation, and administration of the Police Department; and is responsible for the protection of life and property through enforcement of federal, state, and local statutes and ordinances; and performs related work as required. Pre-employment drug screening is required. All applicants will undergo an intense background check.
Desirable Minimum Qualifications, include graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, business administration, public administration, behavioral science or related field of study is required. A Master's or higher-level degree may be given preference. (Command level police experience may substitute for education.
