The Oklahoma Municipal League (OML) is now taking applications for the Community Leadership Development Program Class VII (formerly CALT). This program provides enhanced training and educational opportunities for municipal officials and community leaders.
This leadership training will consist of six (6) sessions occurring approximately every 2 months. The first session will be the only two-day event and is scheduled for April 12th & 13th. The first class, Foundations of Community Leadership, will be taught by Karen Hill, President of Training Professionals, Inc.
Tentative topics for future classes include:
- Community Assessment & Involvement
- Economic Development & Tourism
- The Abilene Paradox & Conflict Resolution
- Collaboration & Consensus Building
- Cultivating Your Community
Following the April class, the next 5 sessions are tentatively scheduled as follows: June 8, 2018; August 3, 2018; October 12, 2018; and December 7, 2018; with class graduation in February of 2019. With the exception of Session I, all sessions will be one-day classes, each hosted by communities around the state.
We encourage you to sign up for this unique training experience and be a part of the CLD Class VII. The total cost of enrollment is $500. The class is open to any municipal official or employee, member of the business community, chamber, and community volunteers.
Please note the class is limited to 40 and in order to be a part of the Class VII Graduation only 1 approved absence is allowed.
