Lots of holiday lights, hot cocoa and a wonderful time will welcome family, friends, and visitors to the annual Elk City Christmas in the Park extravaganza beginning Friday, November 23, 2018.
Visitors can once again drive through the park and view the light displays every night from 6pm to 11pm beginning Friday, November 23 and continuing through to New Year’s Eve.
Extra special activities take place every Friday and Saturday night (Nov. 23 & 24 / Nov. 30 & Dec. 01 / Dec. 7 & 8 / Dec. 14 & 15 / Dec. 21 & 22) from 6pm-9pm.
The festivities all take place at Ackley Park located on Historic Route 66 and admission remains FREE to all visitors. This year Friday & Saturday night extra special activities include: Train rides on the Candy Cane Express, Old Fashioned Horse-drawn Carriage rides and holiday ornament shopping at the Gingerbread Gift Shoppe. Light tours on the Mistletoe Express, Double-Decker Bus and the centennial carousel also will be available for kids of all ages. Of course, the festivities wouldn’t be complete without a visit from Santa Claus. Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet boys and girls at the Santa’s Park Place each Friday and Saturday evenings through December 22nd.
The Elk City Convention & Visitors Bureau is excited to unveil the newest addition to Elk City’s Christmas in the Park. A massive, one of a kind, holiday snow globe that will allow visitors to have a unique photo opportunity unlike anything they have ever experienced before! The Elk City Holiday Snow Globe will be featured from 6pm to 9pm at Elk City’s Christmas in the Park on Nov. 23rd, 24th, 30th and Dec. 1st.
“It doesn’t get any better than this when it comes to holiday fun for the entire family,”said Convention & Visitors Bureau Director Julie Lenius. “Elk City’s Christmas in the Park is not only one of the largest Christmas light display in all of western Oklahoma, but also the Best!” “It is without doubt, one of the most special parts of the holiday season in Elk City.”
Each year millions of lights turn the Ackley Park into a miniature tinsel town for the thousands of families whose holidays wouldn’t be complete without this very special tradition.
