The Alva Chamber of Commerce will host their “Christmas Comes to Alva” event this year starting with the Shop Small Business Saturday beginning on November 24.  On Dec. 1, Alva retailers will host a  Christmas Open House from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Also on the 1stis the Christmas Craft Show at the Woods County Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

 Shop at local retailers this holiday and enter to win thousands in Chamber Bucks. A drawing  for $1000 in Chamber Bucks will be held at 4:30 on Dec. 1. And new to this year’s event is the 12 Days of Christmas Candy Cane Cash Giveaway where facebook live drawings will be held in stores for 12 days in  December. 

At 5 p.m. the Annual Christmas parade will be held on the downtown square, followed by cookies, caroling and the annual lighting of the downtown square.

Natasha Foster with Schuhmacher’s Copper Penny on Alva’s downtown square said, “We have an amazing day planned and many new and exciting things in the store, we hope shoppers will travel to Alva to shop for the holidays.”

On December 8, the Alva Police Departments Kids and Cops Program will again partner with the Alva Fire Department for Breakfast with Santa. This is free to any child and their parents. Enjoy a pancake breakfast, and write your letter to Santa from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
