Apprentice Lineman

* Listing Description
Performs skilled line work in the operation, construction, maintenance and repair of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems; operates a variety of specialized related equipment and vehicles.
Works under the close supervision of the Superintendent.
Education and Experience: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, and certification as a journey line worker, and four years’ experience in line work, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
(A) Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in electrical distribution system maintenance work; Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade; Considerable knowledge of the principles of electrical theory as applied to electrical circuits and wiring systems and ability to apply this knowledge to work situations.

(B) Ability to follow proper methods, procedures and safety precautions of line work; Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions; Ability to work under varying weather conditions.

Valid OK State Driver's License with CDL endorsement, or ability to obtain one within six months of hire date. A journeyman line workers license or certification. Must live within a thirty (30) minute response time. Must have a working telephone for callback. Must be available for 24 hour callback which include weekends and holidays. Will occasionally be required to work out of town.

The ideal candidate will perform all duties safely while working on energized and de-energized systems, in full compliance with OSHA, and the City of Anadarko Safety requirements.
