JOB OPPORTUNITY 

TRANSPORTATION PLANNER – TRANSIT 

The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Oklahoma City Area Regional Transportation Study (OCARTS) area, seeks a highly motivated and skilled professional to fill a key position within the Transportation & Planning Services (TPS) Division. The position serves as the principal professional and technical resource for regional transit planning efforts and MPO compliance with Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Other responsibilities include coordination of related committees and/or subcommittees, assisting in the development of the long-range transportation plan, transportation data analysis, report writing, and coordination with a variety of public entities and private section stakeholders. Makes frequent decisions important to the projects for which he/she has responsibility. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

Assistant Planner: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Geography, or related field, plus one year of professional experience. A Master’s Degree in related field may substitute for one year of experience. Minimum starting salary $41,408, depending on experience and qualifications. 

Associate Planner: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Geography, or related field, plus three years of professional experience. A Master’s Degree in related field may substitute for one year of experience. Minimum starting salary $47,091, depending on experience and qualifications.
