HOBART CITY MANAGER TAPPED AS 2009 DON RIDER AWARD WINNER
Award honors state’s most outstanding municipal official

TULSA – Wilt Brown, Hobart city manager, is the recipient of the 2009 Don Rider Award. He was presented the award during today’s Oklahoma Municipal League Annual Awards Breakfast.
Brown is the twenty-second recipient of the award, which honors the late Don Rider, former OML executive director. The citation, named in his memory, recognizes a local official who has made outstanding long-term commitments to his or her community.
Brown has served as city manager for the City of Hobart since 1999.
OML is a statewide, non-profit corporation currently composed of 471 member cities and towns. The League serves as a spokesperson for municipalities at state and federal government levels to achieve local objectives. By working together through the League, municipal officials formulate programs and unite in concerted action benefiting their communities.
