August 11, 2016
Jodi Cox, Executive Director and CEO of the Oklahoma Municipal Retirement Fund (OkMRF) attended the City of Shawnee Commission meeting on August 1, 2016, to present the first George F. Wilkinson annual award given in Mr. Wilkinson’s honor to this year's outstanding authorized agent whose performance of duties is exemplary.
Cox explained to the Shawnee Commissioners that George F. Wilkinson showed true dedication and served on the OkMRF Board of Trustees for thirty-four (34) years. He served with the utmost of honor and integrity. His primary focus was to always be mindful of the plan participant's best interest. Mr. Wilkinson recently retired from the OkMRF Board and was named Trustee Emeritus. He will continue to keep a watchful eye over the organization forevermore!
This year’s recipient was selected from a pool of 215 state-wide authorized agent candidates.
With great pleasure, the 2016 George F. Wilkinson award winner was Shawnee’s Human Resource Director, Tamera R. Johnson. Tamera portrays many, if not all, of Wilkinson’s attributes. She strives to serve her coworkers with the highest regard and best customer service. She keeps a watchful eye over Shawnee's retirement plans and the pension benefits offered to Shawnee’s employees. Tamera’s helpful suggestions have provided ideas to OkMRF to improve the retirement system as a whole. Because of her influence, OkMRF streamlined processes that have improved the overall experience for authorized agents across Oklahoma. Her kindness and dedication to the welfare of her employees has rightfully earned her this esteemed award! On behalf of Trustee Emeritus Wilkinson, the Board of Trustees and OkMRF Staff, OkMRF congratulates Tamera R. Johnson - the 2016 George F. Wilkinson award winner.
