Duncanville is the City of Champions! It is a vibrant redeveloping community with a rich railroad history. Duncanville is perfectly located in the DFW Metroplex between IH20 and Hwy 67. The City has a total land area of 11.22 square miles.

The City of Duncanville is a home rule municipality and operates under a Council-Manager form of government with a population of 39,221. The Duncanville City Council consists of seven members including the Mayor. The City Council appoints a City Manager, who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all City departments. The City of Duncanville has 335 full and part-time employees. The FY 2016-2017 budget is $56.4 million.

The ideal candidate must be forward-thinking, a collaborative professional with strong communication skills, excellent team building skills, and have broad experience in municipal operations. The Assistant City Manager will supervise Parks and Recreation, Library, Information Technology, and Public Information. The Assistant City Manager will also act as a liaison between the City and external organizations, fostering cooperative relationship between public, non-profit, and private organizations.

The selected candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or related field and five or more years of experience with related work experience. Experience with financial management, municipal budget processes, and strategic planning, is preferred. The salary range for this position is $124,377-$152,362.
